Graduate School!!

AHHH!!!! I have seriously been dreaming of this day for YEARS! I never thought it would actually happen but today, on an ordinary random day, this beautiful piece of paper arrived in the mail, and YES! This is what I’ve been waiting for for so long now!!! For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to get into a Speech Pathology/Communication Disorders program and I knew it would be a long shot, since I was an international student with mediocre grades, but lo and behold, I got an acceptance from EMERSON COLLEGE which is a freakin awesome school!!!!!

Now I know there’s no way I could have made it without the help of all the people who have guided and supported me throughout the whole application process, such as Dr. Shari Rosen of ELG China (my boss and amazing mentor) and Timmy (who never lost faith in me even when a lot of times I was already so depressed over this) and my parents, friends who all believed I could make it.

Until now I am still in shock!!!! I know I have worked hard for this, I worked in China and carefully planned my application for an entire year, and it feels good to know that all the hard work has paid off.. I know that getting in is just the beginning, but I’m just happy to have my foot in the door! It is an honor to be accepted, as I know that Emerson had 630 applicants this year. I am truly blessed and I need to prove to them that I was worth it, that they did not make a mistake in choosing me! I will make them proud 🙂

I have a lot to think about now.. I have to worry about loans and moving to MA but for now I just want to bask in the glory and praise God because He is truly wonderful! I still can’t believe that I am now one-step closer into becoming a CCC-SLP!!!! This is proof that this is my calling!!!! I remember thinking that if I didn’t make it, maybe God had a different plan for me, but now I know, my mission in life is to help those with communication difficulties!

Thank you, Lord! You are truly wonderful!!!!

Btw, I applied to 3 schools!

Accepted: Emerson

Rejected: UMass Amherst

Waiting: Bloomsburg

I think you’ll love it. I know I’m biased towards it, but my fiance is from Liverpool, and he loves it too, he and I go there all the time when he’s here. If you want you can let me know when you guys get there, send me a message over at visajourney (im kikip) and we can come give you guys a tour. He should be here before you guys move.

    Hi Steph,

Stumbled on this blog via your wedding site. Congratulations on your scholarship! How are you? 🙂

Wow, it’s been seven (or eight?) years since were lab partners back then in high school (And now you’re getting married!!!)… how time flies. As I write this, I recall the days when we both did not have printers at home but still managed to submit our Physics lab reports. 😀

Anyways, best wishes to you and your fiance. Enjoy your wedding day and your upcoming life as Mrs. Kramer! ;p

    Warm regards,
