I’m backkk!!!!

Okay, so a lot has happened since I last posted… Granted, I haven’t posted in over a month. I’ve got my reasons, so please bear with me.

Summer has been great! It started with a bang (getting my GC) and was followed by our Georgia adventure.. Tim and I drove 16 hours to Fort Benning, GA and we spent a good 3 weeks there. While he was busy taking the Mech Leader’s Course, I spent my time just chilling all day at Olsen Hall. I thought GA was neat, and I am happy that I got to experience living on post even for just a short period of time. The whole time in GA I would just daydream on how I would decorate our place when we moved out, and spent time online shopping for furniture. Now as I write this, I have actually been in our new home for a good two weeks now, and so much has changed since then. We actually just got our internet and cable connection set up just a few days ago which is why it took me this long to start blogging again.

Before I talk about our new place, just some updates.. I finally got my SS card and Military ID in my married name, yay!! It took about 4 weeks to receive the new SS card, because they said it had to go through some DHS verification, but it did come, so I am really happy! For my military ID, all I had to show was my new SS card and GC, and they made a new card for me. Aside from that, we switched from Tricare Reserve Select to Tricare Standard for me, and Tricare Prime for Timmy because he just got activated. Yes, my hubby now works full-time for the National Guard, woohoo!! This is something that he has wanted for such a long time now, so we were very happy when he got the job. He just started this month.. It has been great so far, although the hours are crazy and he works weekends. But, how can I complain? In this economy, I am just happy that he has a job and he likes it. I know how blessed we are. Anyway, back to Tricare. I chose not to enroll in Prime because I wanted the freedom to see any doctor at any facility of my choice, and the co-pay really isn’t bad. We also enrolled in United Concordia for the dental program. I feel very blessed to have access to health and dental care at such an affordable cost!

So back to the house. Before we moved, I once read that moving is the 3rd most stressful experience after death of a loved one, and losing a job. I thought that they were exaggerating and I really felt that moving can’t be THAT bad.. you know?? Well here I am two weeks later and I can now honestly say that I agree with that statement wholeheartedly. As much as I hate packing, unpacking is even worse! Plus the painting, and even shopping for the little things.. gosh. It is a true gigantic task, and it will test your marriage. But we survived, and now I cannot be any happier here. It feels great to finally have a place to ourselves, something we can call home. All the stress was worth it. 🙂 It also helps that I really love the small town we moved into!! The only hard part has been not being able to move around so much.. since we only share one car and Tim takes it to work, I’m pretty much just stuck here until he gets home. But that’s okay, because I really don’t see the need to get another car just yet. I live close enough to school that I can just walk, or hopefully carpool with someone. 🙂

I still have a lot of things to take care of.. like getting my license!! But I really will work on it soon!!! (As soon as I have a way to go to the DMV) School starts in a week, and I am NERVOUS to say the least!!! I will update you on how that goes 🙂

Well that’s all for now.. here are some photos (more to come once we complete our furniture) 🙂

Im hoping to start my visa journey soon and with your very detailed explanation I doubt we’ll run into problems.
Thanks for starting the blog and wish you the best of luck with your new place!
