Updates, updates.. Our first anniversary!

I can’t believe it’s already April! Tomorrow will be our first wedding anniversary!!! How time flies!! I love looking at this blog and seeing how far we’ve come, it really has been an amazing journey. It amazes me to think that we got engaged not really knowing where life would take us, and I moved to the US not knowing where we would live, what we’d be doing or even if we’d be okay.. but somehow I had just faith that it would all work out. I knew that as long as we had each other we’d be okay, and that anything was better than being apart. Looking back I am amazed at my courage, and just with how it all worked out for us! Somehow it all just fell into place. I got into a grad program, he found a job near my school and now here we are! We’ve survived a year of marriage and 2 semesters of graduate school! On top of that we were able to survive the whole adjustment of status process. I got my green card, license, did my taxes, etc. I can say that after a year of living here I do feel well-adjusted and I am happy that I have made great friends in my program. I couldn’t be happier! I don’t know what the future holds for us, but as long as we’re together then that’s all that matters!

I am so blessed to have such a great and loving husband! Although we’ve had our ups and downs, the first year of our marriage has been pretty much a breeze. I’ve often joked that our marriage had a warranty period and I would return him to the husband factory, but guess what, I am keeping you forever baby!! You are mine all mine! How lucky am I to have someone so caring and supportive, and who never leaves my side and I couldn’t ask for more!! I love you so much Timmy! Thank you for this wonderful year and I look forward to a lifetime of anniversaries to come!!!! 🙂

On other news, I am happy to update that I am just 5 weeks away from completing my spring semester!! I can’t believe it’s going by so fast! My thesis is doing okay, I just completed my review of related literature and now I’ve just started to work on my methodology. Balancing clients, school, my graduate assistant position and thesis has not been easy but no one ever said being in grad school would be easy! All I can tell myself is that I am one step closer to accomplishing my dream, which is to become a certified SLP!! I am already thinking about where I will do my CFY.. I am hoping to move to Maryland or Virginia.. I hope that the process won’t be too complicated! But I need to contain myself, I am still a year away from graduating!

Aside from it being my anniversary month, it’s also my birthday month, so I am turning 25 in a few weeks! I feel like I am right on track with my life though.. I’m in graduate school, I’m married… too early for a baby though! Hopefully soon, but I need to finish school first, and maybe get a house??? 🙂

I know I haven’t been posting much, but I’ve just been too busy! I’m okay though.. I hope everyone is doing great too!
