Life at 25!

I am one of those people who like to plan my life, and when I was young I would spend countless hours thinking about my future and my life goals. I may not have known back then where I wanted to end up and what I would be doing, but I always knew I wanted to be married by 25! And now here I am, I just turned 25 and I have been married for a year to a great man who loves and supports me unconditionally. I could not be happier!

Because Tim was at work, I spent my birthday with some of my fellow speechies by having Hibachi for lunch and then we all went to see “The Lucky One.” Fun times! It was a simple, awesome way to kick off my 25th year. πŸ™‚

Three days after my birthday it was Tim’s birthday as well. He turned 24 ( Yes I am a year older than him). Β  He spent the whole weekend at work but when he came back we made sure to celebrate! It’s hard to find time to do stuff especially when he’s always working and I’m busy with school but thankfully we make it work and our relationship has been getting stronger and stronger.

Aside from it being our birthday month, April was also epic because it marked the end of the hardest semester of grad school (or so they say). I could not be happier to have survived these past few months. Believe me, the combination of thesis, school placements, night classes, GA job and just doing chores is not an easy task!! But no matter how hard things get, one thing that never changes is the fact that it will pass, time will go by and it will be over. Sure enough, May came and I did my finals and my thesis prospectus meeting, and now I am done!!! Woohoo!!!

I PASSED MY PROSPECTUS MEETING!

My celebration is a little short-lived though because I actually begin my summer semester on Monday! I only had a week off (which is still better than nothing). It’s been a pretty eventful week for me. We spent the weekend with Tim’s parents because my MIL graduated from college last Saturday. She went back to school in her 40’s, isn’t that cool? I admire her guts and now she is all done, what an awesome accomplishment! Congrats Tita Kathy! πŸ™‚

On a sad note, my mom just informed me that yesterday my other dog from the Philippines got run over by a motorcycle. He’s always been such a naughty little puppy because he likes to escape from our house, but he was such a sweet dog who truly loved us and made us happy. He was full of life and always cheering us up, it deeply pains me to think that he is gone and that he had to go that way. 😦  I guess Chevy wanted to be with his dad. 😦 Times like this really make me miss home and want to visit, but I can’t yet because there is no time. Hopefully soon I’ll have a longer break!

I love you so much Chevy and I miss you, I’m sorry I wasn’t able to say goodbye to you or Hercules. 😦 Rest in Peace Chevy, you were a great pet and thanks for taking care of my family back home. 😦

So there’s my updates.. In a few days I’ll begin my summer semester and my life will probably be crazy again. Time for thesis testing, ahhhh!!! Tim will be out for most of June so that part will suck, but I’d like to think that this will all be worth it someday. When he’s done with deployment and when I’m done with school we will finally have time to really be a “real” family who is always together lol. πŸ™‚

Looking back at all I have accomplished and have been through for the past 24 years, I feel truly blessed and grateful because I could not have asked for more. I could not have imagined that this is how my life would turn out, but it worked out so well. I know that God has plans for me and Tim, and I look forward to the next chapter of our lives!

That’s all for now, hope everyone is doing well! πŸ™‚

xoxo,

Steph
