Always expect the unexpected: We’re pregnant!!

Yup, you heard it right. As if being in grad school and being an army wife wasn’t hard enough, I’ve just recently found out that I am expecting! Though this news came a bit earlier/sooner than expected, I’ve always thought that babies are a blessing and not everyone is granted the opportunity and honor to become a parent, so I am happy and excited nonetheless! The past month has been a little crazy because I am juggling my summer semester, thesis testing, and morning sickness with fatigue all at the same time.. It really hasn’t been fun but I have no plans to stop school so I need to push through it and just survive! Luckily my school has been very understanding and supportive and will work with me so I can complete my studies and have my baby at the same time.. I truly am so blessed! I am also so ย lucky to have such a great husband to take care of me during this tough trimester. He has been so amazing! With him deploying soon, I struggle at the thought of being alone for the birth and raising the baby by myself for the first few months, but such is the life of an army wife, who am I to complain? At least I have great friends and family to support me. Plus I’m looking to get a nanny for while I’m still in school and hubby is deployed.. (any takers?) ๐Ÿ™‚

So just in case you were wondering when my journey to motherhood began, I found out I was pregnant last June 5th all because of a hunch.. The week before that was my roomate’s (Diona) wedding (which was a beautiful ceremony by the way!), and I remember just feeling so tired all the time.. A few days later I decided to take a test, and it was positive. I was so shocked!! I couldn’t believe it so I took two other tests, and they all came back positive too. I even went to the health department that same day and had a test done there too. When that came back positive, I knew it was true!! I was about 4 weeks when I found out, and now I am 8 weeks along already.. I still have a loooong way to go lol.. ๐Ÿ™‚

I went to the doctor for the first time last week, and I got a dating ultrasound to confirm the date.. My baby had a heartbeat of 144, and he/she looked like a precious little bean!! I really couldn’t believe it!

I was also feeling really sick and had to get fluids because I had gotten dehydrated from all the morning sickness.. Ick..

Luckily I got prescribed Zofran and Unisom for the nausea and it has been helping a lot.

Well that’s all for now! I’ll keep you all updated on my pregnancy journey and grad school! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you Maria!! As for names, it’s John Franklin for a boy (in honor of our dads! and his initials will be JFK- so cute!) and Luna Belle for a girl ๐Ÿ™‚
